Tech at the new Eastland & Co shopping centre

The new Eastland Shopping Centre extension is almost here! Otherwise known as Eastland & Co, it will be opening the first stage on October the 29th, 2015! At this stage the details are still minimal, however there will be new shops selling and showing off the latest technology has to offer. Even the Maroondah council will be getting in on the action with some new high tech offers at their new Library called Realm and their new co-work space at their to be launched BizHub.

JB Hifi will be returning to Eastland and we’ll be one of the first to visit and check out their new computer and tech area.

David Jones will be a new Entrant to Eastland & Co shopping centre, however it is unclear just how much they will feature computers and other home entertainment goods. It is likely they will feature high end computers from all the manufacturers and possibly have more emphasis on Apple goods with its own dedicated area since there will be no Apple store at Eastland.

Apart from what will be sold at Eastland, it will be interesting to see how Eastland & Co incorporate technology into the centre. Huge LED advertising display walls will most likely be around the place just like they have at other high end shopping malls such as Doncaster. I hate advertising, but I must admit, they catch my eye immediately! WIFI will no doubt be available free across the centre, hopefully decent and we’ll be sure to test and report back on our blog speeds and reliability (any excuse to go drink coffee and surf the net!). Hopefully Eastland Shopping Centre management have been in close contact to plan out mobile phone coverage inside the centre as the old Eastland was patchy at best. Ideally Telco’s such as Telstra, Optus and Vodafone have placed microcell antennas inside the building to cover these blackspots. As we explore the new Eastland we’ll be closely monitoring our mobile phones coverage to see if reception issue are still present and report back.

There will be plenty of stores carrying high tech gadgets. The techs here at PC Medic Ringwood will be over there on opening day to check it all out. If we find anything exceptional, we’ll blog more about it here.

PC Medic Ringwood is excited by the new Eastland opening and can’t wait to explore all the new offerings. PC Medic is only a short walk from Eastland Shopping Centre, Costco, JB Hifi, David Jones, H&M, Uniqlo, Ringwood RSL and the new Ringwood Train Station, so be sure to come and see us if you need any Tech Support, Data Recovery, Computer Repairs, iPad repairs and screen replacements and General Computer Support. We are less than 200 metres and have easy parking behind our building.
